A new investor flew across the country to visit a property they had invested in.
We spent the afternoon walking the community and talking about manufactured housing, the Washington market, our investment strategy, and where I think this industry is headed.
We work with institutional investors who write much larger checks.
But there is something uniquely meaningful about someone choosing to invest their personal savings alongside you.
That’s money they worked for. Money they could have invested anywhere. And they chose to trust us with it.
I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
Real estate investing can become very focused on spreadsheets, IRRs, cap rates, and valuations. Those things obviously matter.
But behind every LP investment is a person who is trusting you to be a responsible steward of their capital.
Having the opportunity to meet that person, walk the property together, answer their questions, and show them exactly what they own was a great reminder of that responsibility.
Managing other people’s money is a business.
Being trusted with someone’s personal savings is a privilege.
